Cliff R. Whitehead
Cliff Whitehead is a partner with the firm who focuses his practice on representing clients in their business matters. In 2014, he was named one of the six ‘Up and Coming Lawyers’ in the State of Indiana by the Indiana Lawyer.
Cliff routinely advises clients in all phases of their business, including start-up, contract formation and review, employer-employee relations, and in business disputes (contracts, breach of fiduciary duty, business torts) and employment matters (discrimination, FMLA, harassment, ADA). Cliff also represents multiple government entities, including the City of Evansville and the Warrick County Council.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Cliff received his undergraduate degree from Boston University in 2006, where he was a writer for the Boston University Daily Free Press and Boston University Club Tennis Champion. Cliff received his law degree, cum laude, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis in 2009. While receiving his law degree, Cliff was honored with the Norman Lefstein Award of Excellence and took part in the law school’s Street Law Program, during which he taught constitutional law at a local high school.
Prior to joining the ZSWS, Cliff served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and defended the City in employment, civil rights, personal injury, and education actions before state and federal courts. He also served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Marion County, Indiana and was lead counsel on numerous jury and hundreds of bench trials for misdemeanor and felony crimes.
Cliff is active in the community and has held a number of positions with local organizations, including currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Ark Crisis Child Care Center since 2014.
