Cliff R. Whitehead

Cliff Whitehead is a partner with the firm’s litigation group. He represents businesses, municipalities, academic institutions, and individuals in a wide array of commercial, employment, real estate, and school law matters. He is the appointed attorney for the Warrick County Council and the Warrick County School Corporation and represents other public entities, including the City of Evansville and Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation. He was also elected a member of the Federation of Insurance & Defense Counsel.

Born in Evansville, Indiana, Cliff received his undergraduate degree from Boston University in 2006, where he was a writer for the Boston University Daily Free Press and Boston University Club Tennis Champion. Cliff received his law degree, cum laude, from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indianapolis in 2009. While receiving his law degree, Cliff was honored with the Norman Lefstein Award of Excellence and took part in the law school’s Street Law Program, during which he taught constitutional law at a local high school.

Prior to joining the ZSWS, Cliff served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and defended the City in employment, civil rights, personal injury, and education actions before state and federal courts. He also served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Marion County, Indiana and was lead counsel on numerous jury and hundreds of bench trials. In 2014, he was named one of the six ‘Up and Coming Lawyers’ in the State of Indiana by the Indiana Lawyer.

Cliff is active in the community and has held a number of positions with local organizations, including currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Ark Crisis Child Care Center since 2014, as a past president, and on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana.
